Advance Research

Give directly to institutions and medical professionals in the area of pediatric brain tumor research.

Sarah had the opportunity to participate in some innovative and new research. In fact, Sarah is still influencing science to this day with the cells she donated. Because of this her family continues to fund advances in breakthrough treatments for brain tumors. The foundation is also seeking out the next generation of researchers dedicated to innovation in this field.

  • The Olson Lab

The Olson Lab identifies, prioritizes, and advances therapeutics into clinical trials for children with brain cancer, with increasing focus on types of brain tumors that are uncommon and have the greatest need for translational research. The Sarah M. Hughes Foundation funds Jim Olson and his research directly to specific projects.

  • Pediatric Brain Tumor Research Fund

The PBTRF’s mission is to fund research in support of the groundbreaking work necessary to find cures for all forms of pediatric brain tumors. The Sarah M. Hughes foundation supports this fund through their contributions on the board and during the Run of Hope.
